Transparency

True transparency is far more than an archive of meeting minutes buried five clicks deep on a municipal website, or a line item hidden within a 200 page PDF budget document. Dumping raw data into the public record is simply bureaucracy masquarading as transparency.

Real trasparency requires making vital information easily accessible, clearly organized, and explained in plan, understandable language so every resident can actually grasp how local decisions impact their daily lives. Drawing on my daily experience as a classroom teacher, I know how to break down complex, multi-layered issues into clear facts. Effective communication requires presenting the trade-offs honestly, and thoroughly examining every side of a topic. 

Citizens shouldn't need a degree in public administration or hours of spare time just to decipher where their tax dollars are going or why a zoning change is being proposed. As your Town Council representative, I will bridge the gap between town hall and your front porch by proactively bringing comprehensive breakdowns of council business directly to you before a vote ever takes place. I will ensure you always have the context and complete picture you need to hold your local government accountable.
