True transparency is far more than an archive of meeting minutes buried five clicks deep on a municipal site or a line item hidden in a 200-page budget document. Simply dumping raw data into the public record is bureaucracy masquerading as transparency.
Real transparency requires making vital information easily accessible, clearly organized, and explained in plain language so every resident can understand how local decisions impact their daily lives. Drawing on my experience as a classroom teacher, I know how to break down complex, multi-layered issues into clear facts, present trade-offs honestly, and thoroughly examine every side of a topic. Residents shouldn't need a degree in public administration or hours of spare time just to decipher where their tax dollars are going or why a zoning change is being proposed.
