For my family, public safety isn’t a political talking point—it’s a daily reality. My husband has served with the Castle Rock Police Department for 18 years, earned the Medal of Valor, and dedicated his career to keeping our town safe. Standing alongside him through late nights, missed holidays, and high-stakes calls has given me an inside perspective on what our first responders truly face every day.
That experience matters. My role on Town Council isn’t to pretend to be an officer, it’s to be a clear-eyed leader who knows the difference between political lip service and genuine operational support. I know how to listen to our officers, ask tough questions, and ensure our public safety teams have the backing they need to protect our community while fiercely respecting the personal rights and privacy of our residents.
Our first responders set the gold standard every day, keeping emergency response times remarkably fast and providing world-class care across Castle Rock. As our community continues to grow, keeping pace with that standard requires forward-thinking leadership so our crews are never forced to stretch themselves too thin.
Castle Rock remains one of the safest communities in Colorado because our local law enforcement does an exceptional job every day. Over the last five years, data shows our violent crime rates have stayed remarkably low compared to state and national averages, a direct result of proactive "one by one" community policing, even as our town grows.
Keeping that peace of mind requires a Town Council that actively backs our police, fire, and emergency services while respecting resident privacy. As Chief Cauley has noted, our department works to "leverage technology to help our officers operate efficiently." I strongly support giving our law enforcement modern tools to solve crimes and stay safe, provided we maintain clear boundaries, sensible oversight, and total public transparency.
We never have to choose between a safe community and a free one. My commitment is to give our first responders the steady local support they need to protect victims and enforce the law, while fiercely protecting the personal freedoms that make Castle Rock feel like home.
